10 early signs of dementia that you must NEVER ignore….

10 early signs to look out for (with compassion)

1. Memory loss that disrupts daily life

Forgetting recently learned information, important dates, or events—and having to recall the same information over and over again—is different from occasional forgetfulness. If memory problems begin to affect your work, relationships, or self-care, it is advisable to consult a doctor.

  •  What to look out for:

    • Repeat questions in the same conversation

    • For tasks I previously did independently, I am now heavily dependent on notes or family.

    2. Difficulties with planning or solving problems

Difficulty following a familiar recipe, managing monthly bills, or concentrating on tasks that previously seemed routine can indicate changes in executive functions. This is not about occasional calculation errors, but about a noticeable, persistent change.

  •  What to look out for:

    • It takes much longer to complete familiar tasks.

    • Avoid activities that require step-by-step thinking.

    3. Confusion regarding time or place

Forgetting dates, seasons, or the passage of time—and sometimes even where you are or how you got there—can be unsettling. Everyone loses their glasses now and then; you constantly forget that it is another year.
